Techstination. Podcasting. Voice-over. Images.
Creativity, persistence and passion. I've had the opportunity to talk to so many interesting people over these many years as a journalist. Without fail, the stories and interviews that excite me the most are the ones in which you can feel the emotion, the motivation, the passion. Covering all of the new ideas and products in consumer technology, I love to ask about those backstories. How the ideas germinated and were brought to life.
“We're going to be selling books online.”
"We're building a new search engine for finding things on the Internet. It has a funny name."
"All the music in the world. You'll be able to carry it with you. In your pocket."
Listening
When you hear people tell you things like those quotes above, it is pretty easy to be a skeptic. In fact, it is healthy to question. How are you going to do that? Why would people want that? But what we've all learned is, sometimes things that sound pretty impossible, turn out to be life changing products or services.
If you are working on what comes next.... I'd love to chat. I can't cover every new product raising funds on KickStarter or Indiegogo, but I'm happy to start the conversation. And to the many great PR folks out there, please don't ask for a list of questions we're going to ask during an interview. There isn't a list. Just a little outline. What we want is to hear the story. And the story behind the story.
